Many of them are not qualified to instruct, and a lot of what they teach can get you hurt or even killed. People with military experience and espionage experience should keep to those areas. They are not experts on self-protection. I am. Moreover, there are a number of people out there who are not qualified at all to teach, and their biographies are ripe with crazy stores like, “I went to a bar in Asia and met an old guy who… blah… blah… blah…” Then, they somehow get involved with this guy and he teaches them self defense secrets that nobody else knows. Now, he can share them with you online! Woo hoo! These guys are frauds. If somebody has not been legitimately trained, and he or she does not have real world experience (not bar fights or street fights… those are fights… not self-defense situations) then you should not learn from them. If you want to learn from a professional who has been there and done that, then this is your course.
Yes. Would I rather have you in my school and learning from either me or one of the other sixteen staff members here? Yes. However, if you are willing to take the learning process seriously, then you can learn via the online medium.

Frankly, a vast majority of those teaching self defense and self protection have no idea what they are doing. What they teach can get you hurt or killed… or SUED if you do happen to survive. I’m a former police officer who has over 30 years of martial arts experience. I run one of the most successful martial arts schools in the nation, and I also happen to be 5’7″ tall and 132 pounds. What I teach works. I’ve tried it, and I know what I’m doing when it comes to all things self-defense. More importantly, I know how to teach it to others.
The only thing you need to take this course is a desire to learn and way to access the internet. (You wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t already have both of those.)
While there are a number of items that I would recommend people own for safety purposes, and we do sell them on this site and in my academy- like tactical flashlights, tactical pocket knives, survival lighters, and even hidden handcuff key bracelets- everything you need, you already have.
I do also have my Federal Firearms License, and I specialize in personal service and custom orders. If you enjoy shooting sports, or you would like a firearm for your home, you can definitely purchase through me, directly. I’m proud to say that I can usually beat any price on any NEW gun that you may desire (and be legally able to own).
Again, though, you don’t need anything you don’t already have to take this course. (I don’t know, maybe you will want to grab a snack prior to watching the training videos. If so, I recommend a healthy snack, maybe some fruit, nuts, or some veggies.)

The ONLY complaint I have received is that people who do my live training sessions wish they had more time. (I pack all of this content into a very, very full day. It’s a long day!) By putting this course online, we are answering that as best as we can, and you, the student, have the opportunity to review the content over-and-over if you would like to.

It’s true that I teach a lot of military and police professionals, along with some federal agents. I also teach a number of bouncers and executive protection professionals (AKA bodyguards). However, many of my students are housewives and college kids. I have even had families that take this course together with their (age appropriate) children.
We do live in a dangerous world. (Based on the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports, one violent crime happens in the USA every two seconds, and one in three women will be the victim of a sexual assault in their lifetime.) With that said, I’m not a fear-based instructor. I am a reality based instructor. I realize that the average person will only have to defend themselves at one point in their lives. However, when that one point comes, will you be ready? This training can help you. The course gives you some “tools” to add to your self-defense “toolbox.”
